Before reaching Akureyri, you will come upon the Goðafoss waterfall, known as “waterfall of the gods.” Akureyri has plenty to offer visitors, and everyone should find something to their liking. After a visit to the city, you’ll head out to the countryside for some more experiences. Drive to Skagafjörður fjord, known for its agricultural prosperity and horse breeding. You may also want to visit the fascinating Glaumbær folk museum, which is housed in an old turf farm.

Glaumbær Folk Museum´s first exhibition opened in 1952 in Glaumbær farm, which is an old turf farmhouse in the North. Glaumbær offers interesting insight into the past lifestyle of the Icelandic people. The main focus of the exhibition is rural life in Iceland during the 18th and 19th centuries.
